The upcoming and highly anticipated Mass Effect Andromeda won’t be coming to the new Nintendo Switch console, according to the game’s producer.
When asked about a potential release on the Switch, BioWare’s Michael Gamble said that they had nothing planned, but also refused to close the door on the possibility entirely.
He said in an interview:
“We’re not planning on it. If the Switch launches and everyone’s just yammering for Mass Effect, who knows. We never want to close doors like that.”
Mass Effect Andromeda will be released in the first half of 2017 on the PS4, PC, and Xbox One. The game takes place 600 years after the events of the first Mass Effect trilogy.
The Switch launches in about three months, and we still haven’t really heard from third party publishers on how they plan on supporting it and which games they plan on releasing on the new console.
