The Media Create charts are out in Japan, as expected, and the surprises mostly come in the hardware stakes; there’s only one major newcomer in the software top 20.

Starting with software, Yo-kai Watch 3 – in two versions – continues to lead and accumulate a decent number of sales. It’s closely followed by The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Game of the Year Edition, and no title outside of the top three sold more than 10,000 units; there are a decent number of Wii U and 3DS games in the mix, nevertheless.

Moving on to hardware the New 3DS LL gained a little over 500 extra sales to stay well on top, and most numbers showed modest changes. The PS4 is the headline number, crashing to a new low of 1,828 units; it’s a strange case, as there appear to be cases of stores running down stock awaiting the new model (due to be officially unveiled today), while consumers are also likely to be waiting to see what Sony reveals.

  1. New 3DS LL – 19,824 (19,300)
  2. PlayStation Vita – 10,081 (8,923)
  3. Wii U – 4,468 (4,519)
  4. New 3DS – 3,975 (4,460)
  5. PlayStation 4 – 1,828 (5,812)
  6. PlayStation 3 – 1,204 (1,067)
  7. 3DS – 507 (520)
  8. 3DS LL – 137 (179)
  9. Xbox One – 126 (50)

A generally uneventful week aside from that PS4 figure, in any case, with some decent numbers for Nintendo.
