Super Mario Run is a massive hit, getting 50 million downloads so far. And it seems that Nintendo is finally seeing the value, both monetary and marketing wise, in releasing mobile games.
Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima recently spoke to the Japanese press, where he revealed that from 2017 and on, the company plans to release 2-3 mobile games per year. He added that the company is listening to input from players on its mobile games, and that they are already working on an update for Super Mario Run based on user feedback.
However, Kimishima did not get into specifics as to what mobile games we can expect from Nintendo.
He also believes that Super Mario Run’s great run is far from over — he think the game could reach 100 million downloads.
