Walmart recently surprised lots of gamers by cancelling their SNES Classic Edition pre-orders. Those who were lucky to get a pre-order got the bad news without much explanation: just that their pre-orders have been cancelled and that their money would be refunded.
Walmart told customers that the pre-order cancellation was because of a “technical glitch”, but a new report suggests that it was actually Nintendo who told Walmart to cancel the pre-orders.
The news comes from Walmart customer support, who told one customer that the cancelled pre-orders were due to the manufacturer of the item “required us to adjust the system to cancel all the orders that were placed last Friday.”
