Earlier today we reported on a discovery by a homebrew user on 3DS that suggested a Western name for Ace Attorney 6. It turns out that was right, as Capcom has now officially confirmed that Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice is coming to the 3DS eShop in September, priced at $29.99 / £24.99 / €29.99 across North America and Europe.

It’s pleasing news – it had long been confirmed for the West, but it’s a relatively snappy release considering that it’s arriving in Japan in early June; it’s also a download-only title in the West, as per the previous two releases in the series.

The Capcom Unity blog has published a neat summary, too, to give you a taste of what it has to offer.

At the start of Spirit of Justice, Phoenix is found visiting the far eastern Kingdom of Khura’in , origin point of the Kurain Channeling Technique, a method of communicating with the spirit realm. As Phoenix soon discovers, courts work differently in Khura’in – trials and verdicts are not decided by evidence or arguments, but through visions conjured via mysterious séance trials by the Royal Priestess of Khura’in herself, Rayfa Padma Khura’in. Thanks to these visions and Khura’inese law, trials here are lawyer-less, leaving defendants helpless! That’s where Phoenix steps in: the new Divination Séances reveal the last moments of the victim’s life, and it’s up to Phoenix to find the contradictions and discrepancies between Rayfa’s vision of the events and the truth of what happened.

Meanwhile, Apollo Justice is doing his best to hold down the fort back at the Wright Anything Agency, on top of taking on a case that will have massive implications. Apollo will do everything in his power to find the truth, so watch out – here comes Justice!

Spirit of Justice is packed with puzzles on top of the series’ well-known witty and humorous courtroom drama. Plus, the new Divination Séance joins popular investigative techniques from previous installments to keep you constantly on your toes both in and out of the courtroom! Phoenix and Apollo will unravel captivating and revealing cases in their search for the truth, working with (or against!) a colorful cast of new and returning allies and adversaries along the way.

You can see a trailer for it below – are you planning to pick this up in September?
