Sega is committed to ensuring future Sonic titles are of a high standard, claims chief brand officer Ivo Gerscovich.

Speaking to MCV, Gerscovich points out that the fact that Sonic’s latest game – Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice – was held back for 2016 is proof of this renewed desire to create top quality titles:

Sega is really – as of this last year – putting a huge emphasis on quality. One of the things about Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice is that we held the title for a year, which is not something Sega has traditionally done, but this focus on quality is really about trying to take Sonic back to where it used to be.

Sega’s speedy mascot turned 25 yesterday. In addition to the forthcoming Fire & Ice, it has been revealed that Sonic Team is working on a brand-new entry in the franchise.
