Nintendo has announced that the wildly popular mobile game, Super Mario Run, will be released on Android in March. The game was released on Apple’s iOS platform in December, where it was downloaded tens of millions of times.
Super Mario Run was downloaded 90 million times according to a report released earlier this month, which means that downloads have likely topped 100 million by now.
However, only 3 million gamers decided to pay $10 to purchase the full game. The free version offers the first three levels.
Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima said that the company plans to release 2 to 3 mobile games per year starting in 2017. Although he didn’t reveal anything about what else Nintendo is working on in the mobile space.
