Yesterday we reported that Best Buy’s internal listing showed the Switch priced at $250, something many Nintendo fans, us included, welcomed. If the Switch launches at $250, it will be well-positioned in the marketplace against the competition.

But that might not be the case. Target’s internal product system shows the Switch priced at $299. Of course, both Target and Best Buy’s prices could be just placeholders — the price these retailers expect the system to cost.

And while 50 bucks may not sound like a lot, there is a big psychological difference between $250 and $300, especially when it comes to video game consoles and consumer electronics in general.

Target’s system also lists 15 launch games for the Switch.

Nintendo will reveal the price of the Switch tomorrow.

Obviously we would all prefer the Switch to be priced at $250, but the question is: if it’s priced at $300, is it still a day-one purchase for you? Let us know in the comments section!
